The European incoherent scatter scientific association (EISCAT) is a scientific organization that operates several radar facilities above the Arctic Circle in Finland, Norway and Sweden, as well as on Svalbard. EISCAT Headquarters are in Kiruna.


Swedish Space Corporation – SSC is a state-owned company, a global provider of advanced space services and manages the operation of Esrange Space Center, Kiruna’s rocket launch and balloon release base.


The Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) is a state research institute that conducts basic research and postgraduate education in space physics, space technology and atmospheric physics. IRF has operations in Kiruna, Umeå, Uppsala and Lund. 


The Department of Space Technology at Luleå University of Technology conducts education and research in the areas of space technology, space and atmospheric science.


We are Sweden’s northernmost and highest located high school with two space programs, the Space Science and Space Technology program. The school has a close collaboration with all space actors in Kiruna.
